Since its birth in 2019, EvalParticipativa has had as its purpose and orientation the vocation to add, share and learn from the experiences of participatory evaluation in our region. We were motivated to have a community capable of bringing together all the people and organisations interested in participatory evaluation approaches.
The means of participation have been diverse, from simply sharing a publication for our resource bank to specific involvement in the organisation of a local, national or regional workshop, the development of a webinar, participation in a podcast, etc.
THINKING TOGETHER ABOUT PARTICIPATORY EVALUATION
One of the forms of communication and exchange that we have always considered to be a priority has been the contributions of cases, experiences and reflective articles on our web platform, which have given space for the richness and plurality of evaluation practices with social participation in the region, with occasional contributions from colleagues from other contexts. It is from these original materials that we generated the EvalParticipativa Dossiers, as a way of socializing what has been learned through an easily accessible publication that brings together all these contributions, which are organized into four main sections: Public Policy and Civil Society; Conceptual Perspectives; Significant Learning; and Operational Approaches and Tools.
The Dossiers seek to be an expression of our vocation to add voices and experiences around participatory evaluation in the Latin American and Caribbean region, becoming a material for consultation and discussion for public institutions, foundations, NGOs and young evaluators, as well as material for study and reflection in postgraduate training with a participatory spirit. Each one of them will also be able to join in this invitation expressed in the Dossier from its title: thinking together about participatory evaluation.
